Micromax enters TV Market
India's largest homegrown handset-maker Micromax on Tuesday announced its entry into the home entertainment segment with the launch of LED televisions, home theatres, 3D Blu Ray players and Android computer dongles.
The company said it would offer six varieties of LED TVs ranging from HD to 3D, two types of home theatre systems, a Blu Ray player supporting 2D and 3D content, and an Android-based dongle.
The handset-maker has priced LED TVs between Rs 15,990 and Rs 1.29 lakh, home theatre systems in the range of Rs 5,990 and Rs 6,990, Blu Ray at Rs 6,490 and the Android-based dongle at Rs 4,990.
These products would be available in Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat through Micromax's distribution channels.
For large format retail, the company has tied up with BrightPoint, a wholesale distributor for most major brand manufacturers.
