Conmen pose as fridge service personnel

Several senior citizens living alone in flats have been tricked and robbed of their possessions.

A smart looking young man offered to clean their fridge for free and claimed that he was coming from Whirlpool service centre.

Similarly, another lady at Adyar, let in a man who claimed that he was from Whirlpool and will service their fridge for free and asked her to clear the fridge.

When she bent down to do so, he snatched the lady's Mali and ran outside. In both instances, no police com­plaint was given. -The man was very friendly, so I trusted him. It is my fault and so did not lodge a complaint I am old and cannot be involved in police cases" says the 65 year old resident.
